Hatchers Pass : Just 30 minutes from our home it is an Alaskan dream playground made up of undeveloped canyons and bowls. Groomed x-country trails are located by Independence Mine which was an actual mine at one time now abandoned to summer activities and tours as well as creating a beautiful backdrop to ski trails (see pictures below). On your way into the canyon you see snow mobile trails and lots of snowboarders hiking up mountain walls and skiing down. Evan and Hanna get excited when they see a groomed sledding hill where Evan maintained his super fast speed record! You see here he is digging a couch out of snow so he can sun himself and rest after a hard days sledding. Absolutely beautiful!
